SUMMARY:Try It You'll Like It Group's 41st
DESCRIPTION:Feel free to bring a dish or dessert\, there will also be a 50/50 raffle! The Try It You’ll Like It Group is celebrating its 41st Anniversary\, marking more than four decades of carrying the message and providing a place for fellowship and recovery. \n\n\n\nThe group began in January 1985\, when Charlie G. and Denny A. recognized the need for a non-smoking A.A. meeting. The group began meeting on Wednesday nights in the basement of St. Andrew’s Church\, with speaker/discussion meetings and a Big Book meeting on the first Wednesday of each month. \n\n\n\nAnd apparently the group had a sense of humor from the beginning. One piece of its recorded history recalls inviting the pastor of St. Andrew’s to speak at the anniversary celebration\, only for him to receive a Styrofoam cup with a hole in it two years in a row! \n\n\n\n41 years later\, the story continues. \n\n\n\nAs we celebrate this anniversary\, we would also like to update the history of the Try It You’ll Like It Group. Our District 47 Archives preserve some of the group’s early story\, but many years have passed since that history was recorded. \n\n\n\nIf you have been part of Try It You’ll Like It over the years\, we would love to hear what you remember. Who were some of the members who helped keep the group going? How has the meeting changed? What traditions\, anniversary celebrations\, memorable moments\, or stories should be preserved? And what would you want future members to know about the group? \n\n\n\nTake a look at the group’s existing history and help us add the next chapters.https://aad47.org/group-history/Dist47_Try_it_Youll_like_it_Grp.pdf

SUMMARY:Sobriety Group Celebrates 50 Years
DESCRIPTION:Sobriety Group celebrates its 50th Anniversary on Saturday\, September 26\, 2026\, marking half a century of carrying the message of Alcoholics Anonymous in our community. \n\n\n\nSobriety Group held its first meeting on August 3\, 1976\, founded by a handful of A.A. members who saw a need for a place in the Hatboro\, Warminster\, Southampton and Warrington area where meetings could be held every day. Their first home at 5 Evergreen Avenue in Warminster didn’t even have chairs\, a coffee pot or coffee when they started. Somehow\, as often happens in A.A.\, the chairs appeared\, the coffee started brewing\, people came through the doors\, and the group grew. \n\n\n\nOver the decades\, Sobriety survived numerous moves and plenty of growing pains while continuing to expand its meetings and service. Along the way\, members carried the message into detoxes and treatment facilities\, provided literature for non-English-speaking alcoholics\, offered sign-language interpretation\, kept the doors open on holidays\, and remained active in District\, Area\, Intergroup and A.A. as a whole. \n\n\n\nFifty years later\, the spirit behind that first meeting continues. Join us for an evening of food\, fun and fellowship beginning at 5:00 PM\, followed by two speakers at 6:00 PM and a 50/50 raffle\, as we celebrate the members who came before us\, those who carry the message today\, and 50 years of Sobriety Group history.

SUMMARY:69th Annual Eastern Pennsylvania General Service Convention and Assembly
DESCRIPTION:The Eastern Pennsylvania General Service Convention and Assembly (EPGSA) is Area 59’s annual gathering of General Service Representatives (GSRs)\, District Committee Members (DCMs)\, Area Officers\, Past Delegates\, and all interested members of Alcoholics Anonymous. It is the one time each year when A.A. members from across Eastern Pennsylvania come together to learn\, share experience\, conduct Area business\, and strengthen our common purpose of carrying the A.A. message. \n\n\n\nThe weekend features workshops\, discussion panels\, committee meetings\, and Area Assembly sessions that provide members with a broader understanding of Alcoholics Anonymous General Service. In even-numbered years\, delegates and Area officers are elected. In odd-numbered years\, Area committees report on their work and the Assembly discusses matters affecting the Fellowship throughout Area 59.Whether you are a first-time GSR\, an experienced trusted servant\, or simply interested in learning more about how Alcoholics Anonymous functions beyond the group level\, the EPGSA offers an opportunity to gain practical knowledge\, hear diverse perspectives\, and better understand how the group conscience is carried from local meetings to the General Service Conference. \n\n\n\nMembers often leave the Convention and Assembly with renewed enthusiasm for service\, a deeper appreciation of A.A.’s General Service structure\, and practical ideas they can bring back to their home groups. GSRs are encouraged to report on the Assembly to their groups\, while all attendees can share what they have learned with fellow members. \n\n\n\nRegistration\, hotel reservations\, volunteer opportunities\, hospitality suite contributions\, and mail-in registration information are available below. We encourage every Area 59 group to support its GSR’s attendance and invite all interested A.A. members to participate in this annual gathering of service\, fellowship\, and shared experience. \n\n\n\nOnline Convention Registration \n\n\n\nOnline Hotel Reservations \n\n\n\nOnline Volunteer Form \n\n\n\nOnline Hospitality Suite Contribution \n\n\n\nMail in Registration (PDF)
